Specify the frame system, finish, interior and exterior colours, glass build-up, safety treatment, coating, tint, spacer, and any acoustic requirement. If thermal performance matters, request the whole-window value for the exact size and configuration being quoted. A thermally broken frame or insulated glass description is useful, but neither replaces a project target or product-specific calculation.
Air, water, drainage, and structure
Provide the project location, exposure, floor level, design pressures, and applicable test standard. Ask whether the proposed test evidence covers the requested size and panel arrangement. Coordinate tracks, seals, corner fabrication, sill drainage, perimeter flashing, and exterior discharge as one water-control path. A good frame cannot compensate for a blocked weep route or a wall detail that directs water inward.
Hardware, screens, and operation
State the required lock, handle height, screen type, restrictor, security need, and accessibility expectation.
